Why is "Xing", "Facebook" or "Twitter" now attractive for PR newcomers? First these networks have allready been mentioned and of course the number of contacts. People responsable for public relations, journalists, professionals, experts from the private sector and their contacts. "Xing" promotes relationships based on trust. As an active and productive community "Xing" business world creates a continous value, online and offline, across all countries, languages and industry boundaries.

After the release of "Facebook" in 2004 the number of members raises continously. In January 2011 "Facebook" counts 600 Million members worldwide. In June 2011 there were 689,3 Million users worldwide. In Germany there are now 18,6 Million people - 22,8% in terms of percentage of the total population.

"Facebook" and "Twitter" are different in their applications. "Twitter" is an application for micro-blogging. It is often used as a publicly accessible diary on the internet. Companies, organizations, mass media and individuals use "Twitter" as a platform for the dissemination of short text messages on the Internet. "Twitter" was launched 2 years after facebook, in 2006, and quickly gains international popularity.
