DUO - The Strong One
The cylinder tube is axially slotted throughout. The force is transmitted via a load coupling which is attached to the piston shaft; the latter is designed in such a way that a web passing through the tube slot connects the inner part of the piston shaft with the outer part.
The force curve is therefore:
Air pressure > Piston surface>Piston shaft (inner) → Piston shaft
(outer)>Load coupling >Workpiece!
The pressure-tight sealing of the cylinder slot is achieved with a
precision-ground, internal steel band; this
is held in
position with 2 magnetic strips running along the slot.
A second steel band is located on the outside of the slot of the tube.
It serves as a dust cover. Both steel bands are lifted off the slot behind the piston seal
during
piston travel as well as during standstill
and are each guided through the piston axis by means of their own
guide channel. In front of and behind
the bands are again sealingly placed over the cylinder slot.
